Quote of the day by Gary Oldman: We all know the temptation to rush through a task, especially when it feels easier to take a shortcut. But trying to save time by doing less can sometimes have the opposite effect, leaving you with even more work to finish later. Actor Gary Oldman shared a simple piece of advice he learned from his mother, one he has since passed on to his own children.

Quote of the Day Today: Gary Oldman on Hard Work and Why Laziness Can Create More Work

Gary Oldman said, “A lazy man works twice as hard. My mother told that to me, and now I say it to my kids. If you're writing an essay, keep it in the lines and in the margins so you don't have to do it over,” as per BrainyQuote.

What Does Gary Oldman’s Quote Mean

Oldman’s words are about avoiding unnecessary work by getting things right the first time. A shortcut might seem easier in the moment, but it can lead to mistakes that have to be corrected later.

His example of writing an essay makes the point simple: following the instructions from the beginning can save time and effort.

Life Lesson From Gary Oldman’s Quote

The quote reminds us that being careful does not necessarily mean working harder. Sometimes, putting in the effort at the start is what prevents us from having to repeat the same task later.

The simple lesson is to do the job properly the first time instead of creating extra work for yourself.
