Quote of the Day Today: Ashanti on Always Looking for the Next Big Thing

Ashanti said, “When I'm not performing? I'm looking for the next big thing,” as per BrainyQuote.

What Does Ashanti’s Quote Mean

Ashanti’s quote reflects a desire to keep growing rather than becoming too comfortable with success. Her focus is not only on what she has already achieved, but also on what she could take on next.

Who Is Ashanti

Ashanti Douglas, better known simply as Ashanti, made a huge impact on R&B and pop music in the early 2000s. The singer, songwriter, model and actress was discovered as a teenager and signed with Murder Inc. in 2002, as per an AAE Music report.

Ashanti’s Rise to Fame

Ashanti quickly became a familiar name after appearing on Fat Joe’s “What’s Luv?” and Ja Rule’s “Always on Time.” Her own hit, “Foolish,” went to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

She also made chart history that year by becoming the first female artist to hold the top two spots on the Billboard Hot 100 at the same time, with “Foolish” at No. 1 and “What’s Luv?” at No. 2.

It also earned Ashanti eight Billboard Music Awards, two American Music Awards and a Grammy for Best Contemporary R&B Album.

Ashanti’s Music Career

Ashanti followed her debut with Chapter II in 2003. The album opened at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and went platinum, with hits including “Rock wit U (Awww Baby)” and “Rain on Me.”

She released Concrete Rose in 2004, followed by The Declaration in 2008 and Braveheart in 2014.

Ashanti’s Musical Influences

Ashanti has cited Ella Fitzgerald, Whitney Houston, Mary J. Blige and Michael Jackson as some of her musical influences.

The “next big thing” could mean a new project, opportunity or personal goal. The important part is the willingness to keep looking and remain open to what comes next.

Life Lesson From Ashanti’s Quote

The quote offers a simple reminder that reaching a goal does not have to be the end of the journey.

It is worth celebrating your achievements, but having something new to work toward can keep you motivated. Sometimes, the excitement of what could come next is enough to keep you moving forward.
