The streaming release date for Queer, directed by Luca Guadagnino, has been set. The film will be available on Max from Friday, March 28. The HBO linear premiere will take place on Saturday, March 29, at 8 PM ET.

Storyline and Setting

The film is based on the 1985 novel Queer by William S. Burroughs. The story is set in 1950s Mexico City. The main character, William Lee, is an American ex-pat in his late 40s. He lives in a small American community and leads a quiet life. His routine changes when he meets Eugene Allerton, a young student. Their connection becomes important for William.
