Production of Scott Frank's British adaptation of Department Q is currently underway. The cast has been revealed, and production is in progress in Edinburgh.

Department Q's series adaptation has been in development since 2014, when the US TV rights for adapting the series have been sold to Scott Frank who is the principal creator of the series. It was reported in the year 2020 that Left Bank Pictures owned by Sony would be producing Department Q.

Frank is well known for his work on his two previous original projects on Netflix which are The Queen's Gambit and Godless. Monsieur, his latest project at present will be aired on AMC.
