Prime perk ends soon: Amazon shoppers lose beloved perk in days — act before it’s gone

Amazon Prime members are getting ready to lose a delivery perk that has quietly saved families and friends money for years. The Prime Invitee Program, which used to be a popular way to get free delivery to people outside of your home, is finally going away for good.

The company said that the benefit, which had been grandfathered in for older subscribers, will officially end next week. For a lot of people, this is the last straw for a perk that kept them loyal to Prime.

What is changing about sharing Amazon Prime?

The Prime Invitee Program, which let subscribers share free deliveries with people who didn't live with them, is ending. Amazon stopped letting new members join ten years ago, but current members could keep the perk as long as they stayed subscribed, as per a report by The Sun.

Why are people angry about the choice?

A lot of people say that the ability to share deliveries was a big reason they kept Prime. "This was the main reason I retained my Prime subscription," one person wrote on Reddit. Another person said, "I was thinking of leaving, but was sharing with a brother and a close friend." "Now, I guess I'm free to quit. I bet there are lots of people in the same situation."

What else can Amazon do?

Amazon told affected members in emails that the Prime Invitee Program, which let people share Prime's fast, free delivery with others, would end on October 1, 2025.

"We are writing to inform you that the Prime Invitee Program, which allowed sharing Prime’s fast, free delivery with others, will end on October 1, 2025."

"Your invited guests will be notified directly about this change by September 5, 2025." "We are excited to recommend Amazon Family as an alternative which enables you to share many Prime benefits with one adult and up to four children in your household at no additional cost," Amazon stated in an email sent to those affected.

The company suggests Amazon Family, which lets subscribers share benefits with one adult and up to four kids in the same house at no extra cost.
