Team USA will try to defend their Presidents Cup title against the international team a little under a year after a significant victory over the European team in the Ryder Cup.

The Americans have never lost at home and have only lost once in the competition, back in 1998. The US had performed exceptionally on the final day to win at Melbourne three years ago. At that time, Tiger Woods was the captain.

The hosts are the favourites this week against an international team that has been severely harmed by players' joining LIV Golf and getting disqualified as a result.

When will Presidents Cup be organised?

The Presidents Cup will start from September 22 and it will last four days, with the championship games taking place on September 25 (Sunday). It is taking place at Quail Hollow, North Carolina. The Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) Tour's Wells Fargo Championship is held on this course every year, and Rory McIlroy has won it three times. It was also the site of the 2017 PGA Championship. That year's winner was Justin Thomas.

Who will broadcast Presidents Cup?

The TV network Sky Sports Golf will televise the event. On Thursday and Friday, coverage starts at 5:30 p.m. BST, with an earlier start time of 12 p.m. BST on Saturday due to two sessions being played.

The last day on Sunday will start airing at 5 pm on the same channel.

From the moment, the first pair of India's Anirban Lahiri and Thongchai Jaidee of Thailand lost their match 5&4 to a sizzling Rickie Fowler and consistent Jimmy Walker, the Internationals were always on the back foot, barring when the South African duo, Branden Grace and Louis Oosthuizen, took out Matt Kuchar and Patrick Reed 3&2.

Will Zalatoris was supposed to participate, but a back injury prevented him from competing in the Presidents Cup and the Tour Championship.

Six players were chosen by Davis Love III, while the remaining six were given automatic eligibility. Jordan Spieth, Billy Horschel, Collin Morikawa, Max Homa, Kevin Kisner, and Cameron Young were the captain's picks.

In an incredibly powerful American team, only match-loving Kisner is outside the top 20 in the world rankings. Scottie Scheffler, the current world number one, competes in his maiden Presidents Cup, while Homa enters the competition full of confidence after winning the Fortinet Championship last week, the inaugural competition of the upcoming PGA Tour season.
