President Trump orders flags at half-mast in honor of Charlie Kirk following tragic shooting at Utah Valley University

The death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk has shocked the whole country. President Donald Trump has ordered all American flags to be flown at half-mast in memory of the 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA, who was shot and killed while speaking at Utah Valley University.

The president made the announcement on TRUTH Social Wednesday afternoon:“In honor of Charlie Kirk, a truly Great American Patriot, I am ordering all American Flags throughout the United States lowered to Half Mast until Sunday evening at 6 P.M.”

What did state leaders do?

Kelly Armstrong, the governor of North Dakota, repeated the order and told people to lower the state and U.S. flags until September 14. He told people to do the same at home and at work, calling the shooting "a senseless and horrible act."

Charlie Kirk, who is only 31 years old, was shot at an event for his American Comeback Tour at Utah Valley University. The person who is thought to have done the shooting has not yet been arrested. His wife and two kids are still alive.
