President of the EC, Von der Leyen's fortune and income revealed, find out her net worth
Ms Ursula Von Der Leyen, the European Commission's President, earns a handsome salary as the entity's chief. This has taken her net worth to around 3 million Euros.

Last weekend, Ms Ursula Von Der Leyen, the European Commission's President, spoke at the G7 Summit at the Alpine Castle in Germany. She talked about the importance of having democracy and the war-torn Ukraine, whose EU candidate status was approved by the bloc's leaders.
Recently, the salary and net worth of Von Der Leyen were exposed. According to reports, as the leader of the executive branch of the European Union (EU), Von Der Leyen earns an approximate monthly salary of 33,400 Euros. This converts to GBP 28,600. Moreover, her salary includes her Base Pay of 28,460 Euros and other tax-free allowances.
Factoring in her salary and current assets, Von Der Leyen's net worth was assessed at 3 million Euros which converts to GBP 2.6 million.
Ursula Von Der Leyen was appointed as the President of the European Commission in 2019. She is the first woman who has been appointed for a top job in Brussels which is also her birth city. After her appointment, her salary increased by around 560 Euros in December 2020. This salary is paid out of the European Union's budget.
After Von der Leyen's net worth was exposed, Antonio Maria Rinaldi, the Italian MEP, lashed out at the income the EC chief earned as a leader. Rinaldi commented that even if Von Der Leyen reduced her salary by 20%, she would have enough money to pay for groceries. Rinaldi added that the 33,000 Euros that Von Der Leyen earns is a slap in poverty's face as many European citizens lack this income.
Before joining politics, Von Der Leyen served at the Hannover Medical School. She was a doctor and research assistant there for which she earned 5000 Euros. As a federal minister, Von Der Leyen earned a salary of 15,000 Euros per month. After being elected to Bundestag in 2009, her pay rose to 19,000 Euros.
Currently, Von Der Leyen shares a home near Hannover with her husband and seven children. Together, they also own horses kept at a Burgdorf farm. Her husband, Mr Heiko Von Der Leyen, has founded a biotech company engaged in researching artificial organs and stem cells. Mr Von Der Leyen belongs to the noble family of Von Der Leyens from Germany, who became wealthy as silk merchants.
