Premier League has seen several blockbuster verbal duels between high-profile managers. We have a new addition to that long list. Wolves manager Bruno Lage and Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch have heated argument during the Premier League match between the two clubs on Saturday.
While Wolves stepped ahead with Daniel Podence's opener goal, Leeds United marked their first win of the opening Premier League season. Rodrigo canceled Daniel's goal for the Wolves before Rayan Ait-Nouri's second-half own goal sealed Leeds a 2-1 win.
Jesse Marsch, instead of being delighted after beginning his first entire season as Leeds manager with a win, was noticed angrily arguing with Wolves manager Lage.
The two managers, Marsch and Lage, first clashed after Hwang Hee-Chan, Wolves striker, went for the first-half game and later entered a heated argument again at the full-time whistle. Both have reacted to their bust-up at the final whistle.
Explaining his part of the argument, Wolves manager Lage blamed Leeds manager Marsch for saying 'things that we cannot mention and said Marsch should have apologized for his words at that moment, not after winning the game. He mentioned later that nothing is wrong between them, all is fine, and they look forward to playing the next match.

Leeds manager Jesse Marsch shrugged off his bust-up with opponent manager Bruno Lage after winning against Wolves.
Speaking about the bust-up, Marsch said it was customary in some ways. He has a lot of respect for Bruno and has no issues with him. When asked about two confrontations during the match, he recalled a similar scene with Lage at Leeds 3-2 win at Wolves last season and said the moments had emotions. He mentioned he wanted to be respectful, but it didn't fall in place. However, he is okay with it and feels the same for Lage.
Talking about the match, Jesse said that they've always looked for a good start. He credited Wolves for pushing the game hard for the first 15 minutes of the second half. He appreciated when Klich and Sam Greenwood came in and made a big difference.

Researchers at Stanford University on April 3 said that they have found a new double mutant variant in the US. This variant was also detected in India some time ago. According to US media, Stanford Health Care Spokesperson Lisa Kim said that the new variant has two mutations, including one found in the California strain, in the spiky protein that the virus latches onto. Kim further informed that the variant was found in a patient from the San Francisco Bay Area by the school’s Clinical Virology Laboratory.

This suggests that the fight against Covid-19 might not be as difficult as it was thought at the time when new variants started emerging, triggering fears that the vaccines developed to protect against the disease might not work against some variants. Some feared that achieving herd immunity against the virus that has disrupted lives and caused deaths of more than 2.7 million people worldwide would be quite hard if more infectious and lethal variants keep emerging.

Studying how SARS-CoV-2 is evolving, Cooper, who is a professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in the US, said that it can now be speculated that the virus is beginning to run out of new and major adaptations. "It's also critical that we make significant investments in building an early-warning system to detect new SARS-CoV-2 variants as well as many other emerging pathogens, both known and yet to be discovered," Cooper wrote in the article published in 'Scientific American' last week.

The Union Health Ministry in India last week said that a total of 771 variants of concerns (VOCs) and a new double mutant variant of Covid-19 had been detected in a total of 10,787 positive samples shared by the states and union territories. It now appears that a mutation in the double mutant variant seems to be similar to a mutation found in the B.1.351 (South Africa) and P.1 (Brazil) variants, the BBC reported citing Jeremy Kamil, a virologist at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center Shreveport in the US.
