The Powerball jackpot surged to an estimated $1.15 billion for the Monday, December 15 drawing following no ticket that claimed the top prize during the previous drawing on Saturday, December 13. If a single ticket matches all five white balls alongside the red Powerball at 11 p.m. ET drawing, the winner would have the opportunity to accept a one-time cash payout of $524.7 million before taxes, rather than the full annuity payout.
