Power failure in Georgia’s Wild Adventures Theme Park leaves people hanging mid-air

People were left hanging in mid-air after a massive power outage shut down rides at Wild Adventures Theme Park in Valdosta, Georgia, United States, on Saturday afternoon, June 21, 2025. The Wild Adventures theme park, in a post on Facebook, informed about the power outage in the park, saying that a widespread power disruption was linked to a nearby utility substation that impacted operations at Wild Adventures and the surrounding community.

“Our teams implemented established safety procedures, including ride evacuations where necessary. We are deeply grateful to our dedicated hosts and local emergency personnel for their quick response and professionalism in managing the situation,” the Facebook post read.

The adventure theme park also informed us that the power was fully restored. “We are also pleased to confirm that tonight’s concert will proceed as planned,” according to the post.


WCTV News also reached out to Wild Adventures to get more details pertaining to the incident, including how long the outage lasted and how many people were stuck on rides. The news outlet, however, did not receive any immediate response.

The authorities at the Wild Adventures Theme Park sought an apology from all the guests and issued them a rain check. Recognizing that visitors at the adventure park faced disruptions, the authorities emphasized the patience shown by them amid the chaos.

“We recognize that some guests experienced significant disruptions to their visit, and we sincerely apologize for that. We greatly appreciate our guests’ patience and understanding during this situation,” the theme park said in the Facebook post.
