For more than 20 years, Ash and Pikachu have dominated the Pokemon anime, with many fans holding the opinion that the ten-year-old will always be the main character.

Pokemon trainers, the time has finally arrived. As the headliners of the anime adaptation, Ash Ketchum and Pikachu have departed. Fortunately, the wait for the return of the beloved pocket monsters won't be too long for enthusiasts.

The name of the future series has been confirmed to be Pokemon Horizons, with new trainers Liko and Roy aiming to take over after Ash's departure. A new teaser that gives viewers a more in-depth look at the plot starring the pair of trainers who must fill some huge shoes has just been released to assist fans celebrate the surprise.

The new teaser not only features more of their Pokemon in action but also provides anime fans a clearer sense of Liko and Roy's objectives for the upcoming season, proving that the Pokemon series wasn't hesitant to change things up and take a major risk with them. The trainers will own certain enigmatic things that aid them in continuing their adventure, according to the video in the teaser.

The creators of the upcoming season provided fans with a sneak preview of what to expect by breaking down the plot of Pokemon Horizons in an official press release:



"Pokémon Horizons: The Series," will focus on a group called the Rising Volt Tacklers that is led by Friede and Captain Pikachu. The members of the Rising Volt Tacklers include Mollie, who specializes in medical treatments, Murdock, and Ludlow. Orla, who appreciates mechanical and electrical work, is joined by her companion Pokémon, Metagross. Murdock also enjoys cooking, and his partner Pokémon is Rockruff. They fly over the entire Pokémon world on their airship. In addition, Amethio, a member of the Explorers and his Pokémon partner Ceruledge, will be encountered by Liko and Roy, as well as a well-known streamer by the name of Nidothing.”
