How the Florida plane crash happened
The Beechcraft King Air twin-turboprop departed from Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport at around 10:14 a.m., bound for Jamaica to deliver aid, CBS News reported, quoting a spokesperson for the airport. The plane reportedly struck the top of a palm tree and tore through a residential fence before plunging into a pond behind a home, WFLA reported.Despite the impact, officials said no homes sustained major damage, though residents were advised to contact police if they find debris from the crash.
