A damaged car was also visible near the plane. The plane was ablaze near the highway, as per a video shared by WCVB, with a car that came under its vicinity also damaged.


The weather was particularly harsh at the time of the crash, with strong winds above 40 mph and rain showers in the area, rendering the visibility down to below 2 miles. The flight was 800 feet above the ground.

The road will be closed for many hours. The plane was flying from New Bedford to Kenosha, Wisconsin, near Illinois and over Lake Michigan. Traffic on I-195 is affected. Westbound lanes are closed at Exit 19, and some eastbound lanes are also closed.

Drivers were advised to take alternate routes:

Eastbound: Exit 16 - Route 88 South - Route 6 East - Dartmouth - Route 140 North - 195 East.

Westbound: Exit 24 - Route 140 South - Route 6 West - Route 88 North - 195 West.
