Piotr Szczerek, the Polish millionaire CEO of Drogbruk, faced massive backlash after he flicked an Kamil Adrian Majchrzak-autographed cap from a boy during the US Open 2025. The incident led to a maelstrom with Szczerek and his wife Anna in the firing line for their conduct in snatching the cap. Piotr later apologized for the incident that took place on August 28 after Poland's Kamil defeated ninth seed Karen Khachanov of Russia in the second round of the Grand Slam tournament.

He later issued an apology on his Facebook Page mentioning that he made a "huge mistake". The Polish millionaire claimed that he was under the impression that Kamil Majchrzak was "handing a hat to me to give to my sons, who had previously asked for autographs". He added that he sent the autographed cap to the boy who was seen in the viral video looking disappointedly towards him after the incident.

But what was interesting about the apology was Piotr Szczerek's statement that he was looking towards working with children and youth, and those who are victims of "violence and hate".

"For years, my wife and I have been engaged in helping children and young athletes, but this situation has shown me that a single moment of indifference can destroy years of work and support. It hurts for me, but a needed lesson in humility. That's why I will be even more actively involved in initiatives that support children and adolescents and actions against violence and hate. I believe that only through actions can rebuild what has been lost trust. Again, I'm sorry to anyone I disappointed," his statement read.
