Saddening news kept basball team Philadelphia Phillies mourning in remembrance of the legacy of Corey Phelan. A 20-year-old pitcher was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. After battling this deadly chronic disease, his journey ended on Thursday.

Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is one of the most dangerous cancer types to attack the lymphatic system, indirectly damaging your immune system. The body's white blood cells start to increase in your body, causing deadly tumours throughout. Some common symptoms of this type of cancer are loss of appetite and abnormal chest pain. Fever chills and night sweats are also seen in some patients.

Corey Phelan is the Philadelphia Phillies' left-handed versatile pitcher who signed as an undrafted free agent after graduating high school in 2020. He was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in April 2022.

After struggling with this horrifying disease for 180 days, Phelan took his last breath yesterday. The entire country is mourning, and many people have tweeted in his remembrance.
