Pharrell Williams, Voices of Fire perform pre-game at 2025 World Series Game 1 between Blue Jays and Dodgers

Pharrell Williams and gospel choir Voices of Fire performed before Game 1 of the 2025 World Series presented by Capital One on Friday, October 24, at Rogers Centre in Toronto. The 121st Fall Classic between the National League Champion Los Angeles Dodgers and American League Champion Toronto Blue Jays began with live global coverage at 7:00 p.m. ET on FOX, FOX Deportes and ESPN Radio.

MLB's 44 international media partners broadcast the performance and player introductions to audiences in over 200 countries in 16 languages. The World Series marks the first time Toronto has hosted the Fall Classic since 1993.

Thirteen-time GRAMMY Award-winning artist, Academy Award-nominated musician and filmmaker, philanthropist and Louis Vuitton menswear Creative Director Pharrell Williams took the field with Bishop Ezekiel Williams' group Voices of Fire. The performance featured "ARE YOU READY?" and "THE ONE" from the choir's new album OPHANIM, available exclusively at voicesoffire.com.

Pharrell worked with MLB and Emmy award-winning production company Jesse Collins Entertainment. Jesse Collins, Dionne Harmon and Seth Dudowsky served as executive producers of the show, incorporating themes of unity and togetherness while honoring baseball as a global sport.

Voices of Fire perform US and Canadian national anthems

Voices of Fire performed both the US National Anthem and the Canadian National Anthem before first pitch. An ensemble composed of a local Toronto orchestra and additional performers accompanied Voices of Fire during the rendition of the Canadian National Anthem to honor the international setting of the World Series.

October Hits Different campaign featured Pharrell performance

MLB's 2025 Postseason campaign, "October Hits Different," reflected the anticipation of October Baseball. Pharrell, Voices of Fire and a 25-piece orchestra recorded a live rendition of "ARE YOU READY?" in an empty stadium while season highlights and player footage illustrated connections between gameplay and artistic performance. The song served as background music celebrating competitive moments leading to the Fall Classic.

With the Postseason concluding, fans heard the campaign's soundtrack performed live as the opening to the championship series.

2025 World Series broadcast schedule and coverage details

The 2025 World Series presented by Capital One is televised nationally on FOX with coverage beginning each night at 7 p.m. ET. FOX combines with FOX Deportes, the FOX Sports App and FOX One to provide Fall Classic coverage. All World Series games telecast on FOX platforms are available to MLB.TV subscribers who are authenticated subscribers to the applicable network through a participating pay TV provider.

ESPN Radio provides live national coverage of all 2025 World Series games. MLB Network offers coverage throughout the World Series on the Emmy Award-winning MLB Tonight, the Emmy-nominated MLB Central, MLB Now and Intentional Talk.

World Series Game 1 results

Toronto defeated Los Angeles 11-4 in Game 1 on Friday, October 24. The Blue Jays scored nine runs in the sixth inning, including a grand slam by Addison Barger. Game 2 is scheduled for Saturday, October 25, at 8 p.m. ET at Rogers Centre.

The Jonas Brothers will perform "I Can't Lose" before Game 2 as part of MLB's partnership with Mastercard Stand Up To Cancer. Bebe Rexha will sing the American national anthem while Alessia Cara will perform the Canadian national anthem. Joe Carter, who hit a walk-off home run to win the 1993 World Series for the Blue Jays, will throw the ceremonial first pitch.
