Pew Research Center Report: Only 24% voters think Joe Biden is 'mentally sharp'. Donald Trump ahead of Democrat by 4 points

Though US President Joe Biden has claimed that he knows how to fulfill his responsibilities despite not being as energetic and young as before, many voters, including those who have voted for the Democratic Party in the past, don't think so. The Pew Research Center has found in its recent survey that less than a quarter of Americans believe the Democrat contender is “mentally sharp.” Out of more than 7,000 registered voters, who participated in the survey, about 24% think that the incumbent president is 'mentally sharp'. The Pew Research Center conducted the opinion poll after the June 27 presidential debate, which many Democrat leaders think, was a disaster. Joe Biden came under scathing attack for his alleged dismal performance, senior leaders got panicked and many lawmakers openly asked him to step aside. He has rejected all such calls and vowed to beat Donald Trump again.

Trump ahead of Joe Biden by 4 points

Analyzing the data of the survey, 'New York Post' has reported that Trump is ahead of Joe Biden by 4 points. It has also said that in a head-to-head matchup, the Republican contender has a 3-point edge over the incumbent, 50% to 47%. In a survey conducted in April, it was Trump’s 49% to 48% lead.

Joe Biden on steep decline

The survey also noted a steep decline from March 2021, when Biden peaked with 54% describing him as “mentally sharp.” The Pew Research Center conducted the survey between July 1 and 7.

Young people flocking Republican Party

Pew Research Center also reported that about 47% of respondents said they were Republican or leaning toward Republican. Besides, 46% of the respondents claimed to be Democrats or leaning toward the Democrats. It also said that the young people are flocking the GOP and most of them are below 30.
