His office explained that he experienced a “ventricular fibrillation flare-up” which caused him to feel light-headed, leading to a fall and minor facial injuries, as per a report by CNN.

According to his spokesperson, the senator’s injuries are minor. “Upon evaluation, it was established he had a ventricular fibrillation flare-up that led to Senator Fetterman feeling light-headed, falling to the ground and hitting his face with minor injuries,” the statement read. Fetterman even joked, “If you thought my face looked bad before, wait until you see it now!”

Fetterman was taken to the hospital "out of an abundance of caution" after falling during a morning walk close to his Braddock home. According to the spokesperson, Fetterman is doing well and is being monitored on a regular basis, as per a report by CNN.
