Peloton received three reports of seat posts breaking in the U.S. Two of those caused riders to fall and get injured. No such cases have been reported in Canada so far.

The company and safety agencies have told people to stop using the recalled bikes immediately and to contact Peloton for a free seat post replacement. Peloton said safety is their top priority.According to the report by Independent, In an emailed statement, a company spokesperson said, “The integrity of our products and our Members’ well-being are our top priorities,” and added that redesigned seat post replacements will be “available to all affected Bike+ users.”
How to check your Peloton bike
Peloton’s website has a section to help users check if their bike is part of the recall. It also includes easy instructions on how to install the new seat post. These recalled bikes were sold between 2020 and April 2025 at Peloton stores, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Amazon, and eBay for around $2,495 each.About 833,000 of the recalled bikes were sold in the U.S. and another 44,800 in Canada. This is not the first recall by Peloton. In 2023, the company recalled 2 million original bikes (model PL01) after reports of seat posts breaking and people getting injured, as stated by Independent. The bikes recalled now (Bike+) were made between December 2019 and July 2022. They were produced before the 2023 recall.
Peloton has already updated the design. The company said all Bike+ models made since mid-2023 now have a new, stronger seat post and are not part of this recall.
