Sir Paul McCartney has paid tribute to brother-in-law, John Eastman, after he passed away due to pancreatic cancer on Tuesday.

Famed music attorney John Eastman, 83, has died after fighting against pancreatic cancer on Tuesday. John was the sibling of Linda Eastman McCartney, the first wife of the Beatles' lead singer, who passed away in 1998.

"My lovely brother-in-law, John Eastman, has died," McCartney posted on Twitter while posting a picture of the two during a yoga session. It is a really difficult time for me and our families because we have known each other for more than 50 years.

John was a fantastic man, the musician went on to say. One of the kindest and sharpest persons I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. He was not only a great lawyer, who greatly aided me in my business transactions, but he was also a great friend.
