Sudden medical emergency at Beverly Hills home

Actor Patrick Muldoon, widely recognized for appearing in Days of Our Lives and Starship Troopers, has died after suffering a heart attack. The 57-year-old died at the Beverly Hills home he shared with his partner of two years, Miriam Rothbart, his sister Shana Muldoon-Zappa has stated.

The day reportedly began in a calm, routine manner. Muldoon spent time having coffee with Rothbart before heading to take a shower. Moments later, what seemed like an ordinary morning turned into a life-threatening emergency.


Concern grew when he remained inside the bathroom longer than expected. As his sister Shanna Muldoon-Zappa told The Mail:

“She just thought it seemed [like he'd been in there] a little long - it was probably 10 minutes. So she went in and he was on the floor not breathing,”

Rothbart immediately reached out to emergency services and tried to assist him before paramedics arrived, but resuscitation efforts did not succeed.

Family rush and devastating aftermath

Relatives rushed to the residence in shock after receiving the news, but arrived too late.

“She called 911 and she was trying to bring him back, then the paramedics got there. My parents were at our house because we're all in LA and we all ran over there. But by the time we got there, he was gone.”

The situation also led to additional tragedy when Muldoon’s father suffered an injury during the emotional rush.


“My poor dad ran in the house to see him and fell and fractured his shoulder. I mean, it's just so crazy,” Shanna cited.

He is now hospitalized.


She described the situation as an “unbelievable nightmare,” stating that he had been living a fast-paced life and had planned upcoming travel, including trips to Australia and St. Barts.

Denise Richards left deeply affected

Muldoon’s ex-girlfriend Denise Richards is among those most impacted by his passing. The duo met in their youth in acting classes and dated intermittently throughout the 1990s before having a long term friendship.

A source close to Richards told The Mail:

“She's devastated. Really, really sad. I'd even call her inconsolable. She can't stop crying,”

Although their romantic connection ended years ago, their bond remained strong, with continued mutual support personally and professionally.

“Patrick is the ex that she had the best relationship with. There was a ton of respect on both sides. It was so amicable that they were better friends than lovers and they remained in constant contact. She was his biggest supporter, he was hers,” the insider further said.

The pair also recently worked together again and were set to appear in the upcoming project Dirty Hands.
