Parents of 22-year-old criticised after son leaves chicken bones on floor in wedding

Parents of a 22-year-old are being condemned online for letting their son bring fast food to a wedding reception where chicken bones were left on the floor. According to reports, the viral Reddit post has garnered over 8000 upvotes and approximately 3800 comments since it was shared on Sunday.

A Reddit user explained that even though the wedding had a nice buffet, they allowed their 22 year old son to get some fast food. The 22-year-old, however, has no medical or dietary issues that would have stopped him eating the food that was provided at the wedding. Wedding Menu had a variety of items including soup, salad, tenderloin, barbecue beef and pasta. Reddit user described it as really good wedding food.

The user further said that their son who "is a picky eater" also brought some food items for other people at the wedding.


Zoe Burke, editor of wedding publication Hitched, told Newsweek "If he really could not eat anything there, a more polite solution for him would have been to leave and eat something else discreetly in the car. But to bring it in is a rejection to the couple and the money they have spent on hosting everyone."

While defending himself the reddit user said “We are at a table near the dance floor and you could probably smell it there but nobody in our immediate family had a problem even the bride and groom”

“Everyone else who had fast food did so because it was there and tasted good. They didn't have a problem with the venue's food,” he added.



"Also, as some people said, one or two chicken bones did end up on the floor in the venue. That was unfortunate,"the user added.

Amidst the whole controversy, the majority of the comments were quick to call out the parents' decision to let their son bring fast food to the wedding reception.

Reddit user Sandiercy wrote : "You should have arranged something beforehand instead of doing this. Oh, and stop enabling your adult son. He is 22."
