Paramount+ to raise prices upon integration with Showtime on June 27
Warner Bros. Discovery launched its merged HBO Max and Discovery+ streaming service, Max, while Paramount announced the launch date of Paramount+ with Showtime for June 27.

As part of the launch announcement, Paramount stated its plans to discontinue the standalone Showtime app by the end of this year. Additionally, the linear Showtime channel will be rebranded as Paramount with Showtime.
A hefty price hike for Paramount+ was announced by Paramount back in February. Paramount+ Essential, the ad-supported package, will go from $4.99 to $5.99 per month, while Paramount+ with Showtime, the ad-free tier, will climb from $9.99 to $11.99 per month. The only plan with Showtime content is the ad-free one.
Paramount Streaming's President and CEO, Tom Ryan, emphasized that the integration of Showtime's premium and acclaimed content with Paramount+ at a competitive price will establish Paramount+ as a key player in the streaming industry.
Although the ad-free subscription of Paramount+ with Showtime will cost $11.99, it is still $4 cheaper than Max's ad-free subscription, which is priced at $15.99 per month.
The merger of Paramount+ and Showtime was first announced in January. Last year, Paramount+ introduced an in-app Showtime bundle, priced at $11.99 per month with ads and $14.99 per month without ads.
Currently, Paramount+ has 60 million subscribers.
