Panthers tie Oilers at 4 in final seconds to send Game 4 of Stanley Cup Final to OT

In a heart-stopping finish, the Florida Panthers tied the Edmonton Oilers 4-4 with just 19.5 seconds remaining in regulation, sending Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final into overtime on Thursday night, the third time in the series play has extended beyond regulation.

Sam Reinhart scored with just 19.5 seconds left in regulation to tie the Game for the defending champion Panthers. The dramatic goal came shortly after Jake Walman had put the Oilers ahead, capping Edmonton’s rally from a 3-0 deficit.



Florida, leading the series 2-1, dominated the first period with two goals from Matthew Tkachuk and another in the final minute, outshooting Edmonton 17-7 and capitalizing on power-play chances.

Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch pulled goalie Stuart Skinner for the second straight game, turning to Calvin Pickard after Skinner allowed three goals in the opening frame.

Oilers clawed back with goals from Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Darnell Nurse, and Vasily Podkolzin to level the score.

Though Walman’s late goal briefly gave the Oilers the lead, Reinhart’s equalizer preserved Florida’s perfect record when leading by three in the postseason. The Panthers' home crowd erupted as the puck slid past Pickard, keeping the momentum alive.
