Pamela Anderson reveals big reason as to why she left Los Angeles and moved to a remote Canadian island

Pamela Anderson, famed for her iconic role in Baywatch, has taken a bold step by leaving the glitz of Los Angeles for a serene life on Vancouver Island, Canada.

Pamela Anderson, the well-known “Baywatch” star, recently made a significant lifestyle change by leaving Los Angeles and moving to a remote area on Vancouver Island, Canada. Anderson, 57, decided on this shift at the start of the pandemic, motivated by a desire to reconnect with her roots. Growing up in nearby Ladysmith, British Columbia, Anderson’s move was a “homecoming” to find clarity and peace away from Hollywood’s influence.

Why Anderson Left Los Angeles?

Reflecting on her past, Anderson felt Hollywood had created a version of her that didn’t align with who she truly was. “I didn’t want anything that had happened [in Hollywood] to define me,” Anderson told WWD. Feeling the pressures of public perception, Anderson wanted a lifestyle where she could redefine herself naturally. Her garden, especially her rose garden, became a place of reflection and inspiration.

Life and New Ventures on Vancouver Island

On Vancouver Island, Anderson has embraced gardening, which she describes as grounding. She even launched the vegan skincare brand Sonsie Skin, with products like her Cleansing Mousse inspired by rose hips grown in her garden. Her garden has become a symbol of her rediscovered identity. Anderson, who stopped wearing makeup, believes the simple life has brought her peace and allowed her to shed the Hollywood image.

Having spent decades in Malibu, Anderson shared that life in Los Angeles had often left her feeling isolated and misunderstood. Now, as a mother to Brandon and Dylan Lee, she looks back on her Hollywood years as difficult, saying, “I felt like my whole life was a bundle of mistakes.” By returning to Canada, Anderson has found solace, spending her time in her garden and reconnecting with herself in a way she couldn’t in Los Angeles.
