Outlook down: Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft 365 users are facing trouble on Monday morning even as the tech giant has been investigating the issue. Users are facing "sign‑in failures", "unexpected sign‑outs". User reports indicate problems with Microsoft Outlook since 5:19 AM EDT, Downdetector reported.

User reports show problems with Microsoft Outlook. Microsoft Outlook is an email and calendar application offering web, PC, Mac and mobile access as part of Microsoft 365, providing messaging, scheduling, contact management and task organization services, according to Downdetector.




When will Outlook, Microsoft 365 be Back?


"We're investigating an issue where users may be experiencing intermittent issues accessing Outlook," Microsoft 365 Status posted on X.



"We've discovered some users may experience intermittent sign‑in failures, including “too many requests” errors, or unexpected sign‑outs. We're analyzing service telemetry further to identify any potential next steps and mitigation actions," Microsoft 365 Status post reads.

Earlier in January this year, there ‌were nearly 113 incidents of people reporting issues with Microsoft 365, down from over 15,890 reports at its peak a day earlier, according to Downdetector.


Microsoft had said that it has restored access to its suite of productivity software, while data from outage ‌tracking website ‌Downdetector.com showed that reports of outages had declined.

The ‌issue ‍affected several Microsoft 365 ‍services, including Outlook, Microsoft Defender and Microsoft ‌Purview. Microsoft 365 said in its status page on X that the affected infrastructure had been restored to a healthy state and the impact has been resolved.

The company ‍had said earlier that it was routing traffic to alternate infrastructure ‍to ⁠support recovery ⁠and was investigating an issue affecting multiple services after identifying a portion of its North America infrastructure that was not processing traffic as expected.
