Ke Huy Quan was born in Vietnam in 1971. In his childhood, Quan moved to Hong Kong from Vietnam as a refugee, after some time he then settled in the US in 1978.
By mere chance, Quan got an audition to play a Chinese pickpocket in the 1980s blockbusters Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and also starred as gadget-lover in The Goonies the following year.
These films were both, a critical and commercial success, and Quan received solid praise for its energy and comedic timing at the time.
But later in his career, Quan struggled to find roles that complement his earlier performances, and he started working behind the scenes as a stunt coordinator and assistant director which ultimately led him to disappear from the public eye.
