Amidst the intense protests in Iran against the killing of a 22-year-old woman named Mahsa Amini, Oscar-winning director Asghar Farhadi has urged artists worldwide to join the protest.
The Iranian director made a video wherein he strongly requested artists worldwide to show their solidarity against the shameful death of Amini. He appealed to the public to come together and show their support by making videos, writing, or any other way.
The morality police arrested Amini on 13 Sep, and she died in police custody three days later. The police arrested her because she did not follow the dress code properly. The police claimed that the young woman died of a heart attack, but she had no medical history of a cardiac condition.
