Israel launched a big attack on Iran on Friday, hitting nuclear sites and missile factories. They said they wanted to stop Iran from making a nuclear bomb. Donald Trump, former U.S. President and Israel’s key ally, said Iran ignored a 60-day warning he gave earlier to make a nuclear deal, as per reports.

Trump said, “They got hit hard, there's more to come. A lot more.” He warned Iran again to make a deal before it's too late. The U.S. said it had nothing to do with Israel's attack. Iran said it will hit back hard and claimed that top military leaders were killed, including army chief Mohammad Bagheri, Guards head Hossein Salami, and air force commander Amir Ali, as per Reuters reports.

Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian called for unity and promised Israel would “regret its foolish act.” But Iran's oil company said its refineries were safe. Israel said Mossad agents were already inside Iran before the attack. They also built a drone base near Tehran.

Israel used 200 fighter jets and hit 100+ targets, including the Natanz nuclear facility, radars, and missile launchers. PM Netanyahu compared Iran to the Nazis, saying he attacked to protect Israel’s future. Netanyahu will talk to Trump later. At 6 AM U.S. time, Trump again warned Iran on Truth Social, saying, “Make a deal before there is nothing left.” The U.S. said any future nuclear deal must include ending uranium enrichment, as per the Reuters report.

Nuclear deal and talks

Iran says it wants nuclear energy only for peaceful use, not bombs. But the IAEA said Iran broke its promises under the Non-Proliferation Treaty for the first time in 20 years. Iran is in the treaty, but Israel is not and is believed to have nuclear weapons.

Israel said it attacked because of new intelligence that Iran was close to making a bomb. But a U.S. intel source said Iran still hasn’t restarted its nuclear bomb program since 2003. Trump held a National Security Council meeting on Friday. The U.N. Security Council is also meeting at Iran’s request, reported by Reuters.
