OpenAI's new chatbot ChatGPT to generate more conversational responses but is still prone to create disinformation, claims report

ChatGPT is based on OpenAI's GPT-3.5 model but has been taught to generate more conversational responses. Unlike GPT-3, which merely predicts what text will follow any given string of words, ChatGPT attempts to communicate with users' inquiries more humanly. The outcomes are frequently remarkably fluid. ChatGPT can engage with various topics, displaying significant advances over chatbots observed even a few years ago according to a report.

However, the programme fails similarly to previous AI chatbots, with the bot frequently confidently presenting fake or created material as reality. According to some AI experts, such chatbots are stochastic parrots. Their knowledge is obtained only from statistical frequencies in the training activities rather than any human-like understanding of the world as a complex and abstract system.

According to a blog post by OpenAI, the bot was constructed with human trainers who scored and rated how early versions of the chatbot replied to inquiries. This data was then returned to the approach, which modified its responses to fit the trainers' preferences, a typical type of AI training known as reinforcement learning.

The web interface of the bot states that OpenAI's purpose in putting the system online is to gather external feedback to develop and secure our systems. According to the business, while ChatGPT has some safeguards, the system may occasionally create erroneous or misleading information and inappropriate or discriminatory content.
