Sir David Johnson and Nicholas Lyndhurst, the stars of the popular 80s sitcom "Only Fools and Horses", are reported to be no longer in contact. The actors played two brothers, Del Boy and Rodney, who were market traders in the classic sitcom, which began airing in 1981. The series was quite successful and ran for over 20 years on BBC. However, they lost contact after filming a one-off charity special in 2014 for a final time as the brothers.
Sir David Jason talked about their friendship but also disclosed that they have lost touch in recent years. The veteran actor shared that his colleague had become more reserved than before, which is why they don’t see each other as much as Sir David would like to. Reportedly, Nicholas Lyndhurst stayed out of the limelight after the shocking death of his 20-year-old son Archie in 2020 due to a brain hemorrhage caused by acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Sir David admitted that he was unhappy when the series ended. He added that he misses it, and his time there felt less like work and more like having fun with his friends. They loved working with each other. Sir David said he still sometimes enjoys turning into Del Boy when talking to fans, as it makes it easier to get on with them.
