Oneil Cruz belts 513-foot homer with Donkey Kong-themed bat in Home Run Derby - WATCH
Oneil Cruz electrified the 2025 Home Run Derby with a monstrous 513-foot homer, tying for the longest non-Coors Field distance, matching Aaron Judge. Despite his power display and a unique Donkey Kong-themed bat, Cruz was ousted in the semifinals ...

Cruz, the event’s lowest (8th) seed, hit 21 homers in the first round after a slow start, including shots of 488 and 483 feet before unleashing his record-tying drive at 118 mph. Despite his explosive performance, Cruz was eliminated in the semifinals, falling 13-19 to eventual champion Cal Raleigh.
Cruz turned heads in the 2025 Home Run Derby not just with his towering power, but with style - using a Donkey Kong-themed bat. The custom bat, featuring the iconic video game character, added flair to Cruz’s already electric performance.
Raleigh made history Monday night, becoming the first catcher ever to win the Home Run Derby by defeating Tampa Bay’s Junior Caminero 18-15 in the final round.
Raleigh also became the first Seattle Mariners player to claim the title since Ken Griffey Jr. won his third Derby crown in 1999. Caminero, aiming to become the youngest champion at 22, came up just short in his attempt to deliver Tampa Bay its first Derby win.
