Ever since the death of the CEO of OceanGate, Stockton Rush and four others died in a deep sea exploration in June 2023, public interest in exploring the ocean and its deeper parts has considerably fallen. This is not the last trip to explore the deep ocean and the remnants of the Titanic ship. Ohio-based real estate businessman Larry Connor is developing a new vessel along with deep sea explorer Patrick Lahey to explore the famous shipwreck.

About the vessel being developed
This submersible vessel is a 2 Abyssal Explorer and has been described as a high-performance, flexible platform with unmatchable capabilities. The design of the sub has been dubbed as 4000. It features a large cabin seating two deep-sea explorers, glass windows and retractable 19-foot wings.

As one moves deep down the oceans, it gets darker and the vision decreases. It is precisely why these wings have been fitted with lights to enable a clearer vision. The sub will be 10ft tall and weigh 12,000kg.

What was the Titanic ship’s weight and height?
The vessel has been named 'Triton 4000' and is controlled by a joystick and has numerous touch screens giving control to the passengers. It operates on silent glide technology. It has been designed to track objects under the water and guide them towards the object.

The ship sank to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean and is 12,400ft below the Atlantic Ocean. This journey in this vessel is expected to be completed in about 2 hours. However, this is not going to be an easy task getting the required clearances. After the accident last year, the authorities have been diligent in approving journeys to the bottom of the ocean, especially in the area involving the Titanic.

FAQs:

A US committee that investigated the accident estimated that 1517 lives were lost. Their British counterparts determined that 1503 lives were lost.
