Omni Family Health data breach settlement:Some Americans could soon receive checks worth thousands of dollars from a $6.5 million class action settlement connected to a data breach involving Omni Family Health, a nonprofit healthcare organization, as per a report.

The lawsuit accused Omni Family Health, which provides services to communities in California’s Central Valley, of failing to put proper cybersecurity measures in place, as per The Sun report. As a result, a data breach discovered on August 7, 2024, allegedly exposed personal information belonging to patients and employees, including Social Security numbers. The organization has denied wrongdoing but agreed to the settlement to resolve the claims.

Who is eligible for the $6.5 million settlement

To qualify, claimants must be US residents whose personal information may have been compromised in the breach. There is also a sub-class for those who lived in California at the time of the incident. Eligible individuals should have already received a personalized notice by mail or email with a unique ID and confirmation code, as per The Sun report.

How to file the claim

Those details are required to submit a claim, either online through the settlement website or by mailing a completed claim form to the settlement administrator at 1650 Arch Street, Suite 2210, Philadelphia, PA 19103, as per The Sun report.

How much money can claimants receive

Payments will depend on several factors. California residents who submit proof of out-of-pocket losses tied to the breach could receive up to $5,100, as per The Sun report. Non-California residents with documentation may be eligible for up to $5,000.

What if no documents are submitted

Claimants who do not provide documentation can still receive a cash payment from the settlement fund. A final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for February 26, 2026, with payments expected to be sent out soon after if the agreement is approved.
