What public services are closed or delayed in NYC?

Postal services are also suspended throughout New Jersey and in New York City. Post offices are closed to the public and mail carriers are not running their usual routes, as per a report by Bergen Record.

"For the safety of our employees and customers, there will be no deliveries, collections, or retail operations until the severe winter weather subsides,” USPS spokesman Xavier C. Hernandez said. Are schools open in NYC during the snowstorm?



New York City public schools are closed Monday for a traditional snow day, the first of the winter.

Catholic elementary schools under the Archdiocese of New York in Manhattan, the Bronx and Staten Island are also closed. Catholic schools in Brooklyn and Queens, Catholic high schools, charter schools and other private institutions are making their own decisions. Is DoorDash open today in NYC?



DoorDash implemented its severe weather protocol as snow bursts of 2 to 3 inches per hour were expected between 10 p.m. and 10 a.m.

“We’re suspending operations early to keep Dashers safe and off the streets before the travel ban takes effect. We’re closely monitoring conditions and will resume as soon as it’s safe to do so,” a DoorDash spokesperson said in a statement.

Operations are suspended until at least noon Monday, and later updates extended that pause until at least 2 p.m., depending on conditions, as per a report by PIX 11.

What about restaurants, grocery stores and delivery services?
