Talk about knockoffs and North Korea seems to have joined the league of producing similar and recreated content around popular animated shows, typically seen on OTT platforms like Amazon and Max. A researcher by the name of Nick Roy has been over a long period of time, monitoring the controversial country's online presence, and has stumbled on a some interesting piece of data, according to a Wired report. The country is secluded and virtually cut off from the other parts of the world, with major restrictions imposed on the citizens including entertainment and cultural content.

However, the blogger and researcher Nick has found that the country is looking at recreating some exclusive content that are available on Amazon and Max.

Back in 2023's December, Roy stumbled on a cloud server on a DPRK IP address that contained a ton of animated files along with multiple notes, documents and animation cells, that suggest that they may be working on some animated show. Moreover, it included reference images from an Amazon Prime superhero show along with a children anime, that is upcoming on HBO Max.

According to reports, North Korea may be exploiting vulnerabilities in various Western servers and using the same to pirate content and data. Moreover, North Korea's online presence has just 30 websites on record, and there may be many more, which may be undetected till now.

Officials of Amazon and Max did not comment on this issue till now about the re-creation of their exclusive content for the North Korean audience, according to a Wired story.
