‘No Hard Feelings’ Box Office: Jennifer Lawrence-starrer movie makes $2.15 million in previews

Jennifer Lawrence-starrer latest comedy “No Hard Feelings” hit theaters this weekend and made over $2.15 million in previews at the box office. Sony’s latest raunchy comedy is projected to open with $12 million in its opening weekend, which is considered low as compared to its whopping $45 million budget.

R-rated comedies have lately suffered in the theaters as strong language and other reasons don’t align well with heterogeneous audiences. It could be one reason, however, the recent stats suggest a hard time for R-rated comedies. For instance, apart from “Cocaine Bear” which closed $87 million worldwide, “The Machine,” “Bros,” “About My Father” and “Easter Sunday,” haven’t recently suffered at the box office.

It is directed by Gene Stupnitsky whose previous works include — the NBC sitcom “The Office” and the HBO comedy show “Hello Ladies”. He marked his directorial debut with Good Boys in 2019. It performed well at the box office with a decent worldwide run.

‘No Hard Feelings’ Plot

Lawrence plays a bankrupt cab driver whose car has been repossessed, however, her fortune sparked as she accepts an odd job to try dating a 19-year-old before he goes to college. In exchange, she gets a new car and teaches the introverted teenager how to drink, party and much more.
