Ninja Gaiden 4 release date on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox: Check details

Ninja Gaiden 4, a sequel to a series of action games Ninja Gaiden, will be released in fall 2025. The video game will be available on Xbox Series X and S, PC via Steam, and PlayStation 5, as per reports. Ninja Gaiden 4 is a day one Xbox Game Pass launch title.

Ninja Gaiden 4 teaser was shown as the mystery fourth game at Microsoft’s Xbox Developer Direct 2025, reported Newsweek.

The video game is being developed by Team Ninja and PlatinumGames. This will be the first new game in the series since Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z in 2014, according to Newsweek.

Fumihiko Yasuda, head of Team Ninja said that fans have long been asking them for a new Ninja Gaiden game. According to Yasuda, PlatinumGames had the expertise to work on Ninja Gaiden, and with support from Microsoft's Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Gaming, the three companies were able to take the next step towards creating a brand-new Ninja Gaiden.

Ninja Gaiden 4 set in a cyberpunk Tokyo city, will star a new playable character called Yakumo, as per reports. Yuji Nakao, director at PlatinumGames said that Ryu Hayabusa plays a significant role in the story.

Team Ninja’s Ninja Gaiden series has a long association with Xbox. The developer's reboot launched in 2004, bringing the ninja Ryu Hayabusa into the spotlight. Ninja Gaiden Black, released in 2005, is considered one of the greatest action games, as per reports.

Ninja Gaiden 2 came out in 2008 published by Microsoft Game Studios for the Xbox 360. Followed by Ninja Gaiden 3 in 2012 for PS3 and Xbox 360.
