Netflix is now known not just for new age, gory or explicit content, but also for wild-life documentaries as well as heartwarming and fun animation content. Nimona falls in the last category.

The Netflix film Nimona was released on the streaming platform on June 30, 2023. Before that, the film was released in select theaters on June 23, 2023.

Here’s what Nimona is about.

Nimona is based on a graphic novel of the same name by ND Stevenson. The animation film was earlier to be made by Fox's Blue Sky Studios, but it got canceled when Disney shut down its studio in 2021. Annapurna Pictures stepped in and revived the film with Netflix, and it’s been loved by all now.

Nimona is a teenage shapeshifter who is rather mischievous, and she takes along Ballister, a rogue knight in a futuristic medieval world who’s been “framed for a crime he didn’t commit”. Nimona appoints herself as his sidekick and helps him.
