Nikola Jokic has shattered the 56-year-old NBA record as Denver Nuggets reached the first NBA finals after defeating Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference finals.

Nikola Jokic seems to be the new star in NBA. The Serbian basketball player created history. The Denver Nuggets star basketball player on Monday night set the NBA record apart from bagging the MVP award in the Western Conference finals.

Nikola Jokic shattered a record that stood for more than five decades. As Denver Nuggets won the NBA playoffs Game 4 against Los Angeles Lakers, Jokic registered a record-breaking eighth triple-double of the postseason.

Hall of Famer Wilt Chamberlain had the record of seven triple-double that was posted 56 years ago. Chamberlain posted the record for the Philadelphia 76ers in 1967.


While Nikola Jokic bagged the Western Conference finals MVP award, he finished second in the list of MVP voting for the 2022-23 season. Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid bagged the title.

Denver Nuggets have reached the NBA finals for the first time. They will play winner of the Eastern Conference Finals - Boston Celtics vs Miami Heat. Miami Heat is leading 3-0 against Boston Celtics. The Game 4 of Eastern Conference Finals will be played on Tuesday, May 23.

Nikola Jokic has been as good as anybody in basketball over the past three seasons, and the Denver Nuggets' big man now will get the NBA Finals stage to show it.

Jokic and his teammates overcame LeBron James, Anthony Davis and the Los Angeles Lakers as the visiting Nuggets advanced to the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history with a 113-111 victory on Monday and a four-game sweep in the Western Conference finals.

The two-time MVP scored 30 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and dished out 13 assists for his fifth triple-double in his past six games.
