Nikki Haley's husband and son upset by Trump's public post snubbing her from new administration job, ask why she didn't reply publicly

Nikki Haley, the former U.N. Ambassador, finds herself at the center of attention after President-elect Donald Trump publicly announced she would not be part of his second administration—a move that left her family upset and questioning.

Nikki Haley, former U.N. Ambassador, addressed President-elect Donald Trump’s public announcement excluding her from his second administration. Trump's statement on Truth Social mentioned that he would not be offering jobs to Haley or Mike Pompeo, but Haley clarified she never sought a position in the administration. “I had no interest in being in his Cabinet. He knew that,” Haley stated on her SiriusXM show, "Nikki Haley Live."

Haley shared that her husband and son were disappointed by Trump’s post and questioned why she didn't publicly respond. Haley explained her decision to avoid confrontation, emphasizing the importance of moving forward. "I know the game he was playing. I don’t need to play that game," she said, adding that her focus was on America’s future. She emphasized praying for Trump’s success for the sake of future generations.

Haley on Trump's Character and Primary Race

Acknowledging Trump's behavior, Haley said, “He can be shallow at times... But I don’t have to be shallow.” Despite a tough 2024 GOP primary where she was one of the last contenders against Trump, Haley endorsed him, asserting he was “clearly the better choice.” She stood by her past critiques of him but remained committed to supporting him.

Haley described moments when Trump’s team tried to gauge her interest in the administration. Steve Witkoff, a Trump confidant, visited Haley and her husband in South Carolina, seeking a truce. Haley assured him there was no conflict and she desired nothing from Trump. Additionally, Howard Lutnick, Trump’s transition co-chair, asked for her input on suitable Cabinet members. Haley offered recommendations but did not seek any role for herself, instead emphasizing that Trump needed advisors who would tell him the truth.
