Fans of Nicki Minaj may not like this news. The head Barb has revealed that she has pushed back the release date of her latest album 'Pink Friday 2'. The hip-hop superstar originally scheduled the album for October 20, she rescheduled it for November 17 and then pushed further to her birthday, December 8. In a video message posted on Instagram, she said, "Due to some really exciting news that I’ll share with you guys @ a later time, I’ve shifted the album date just a tad bit."

Nicki Minaj explains

Revealing that it took her five years to make the album, she explained that it had been delayed because she had writer’s block during her pregnancy and didn’t want to say 'freaky' stuff. She said, "So this entire album will be the biggest gift I have ever given humanity thus far. The new album date for this incredible body of work that I am so proud of is on a very special day to me and to the Barbz."

The hip-hop singer revealed that the date was changed because her longtime consigliere, Lil Wayne, is releasing a joint album with his pal 2 Chainz, Welcome 2 Collegrove, on November 17, and he would never drop on the same day as Nicki, she is doing the same.

'Pink Friday 2'

While hosting the 2023 MTV VMAs in September, Nick previewed a new, untitled song from PF2 after previously teasing the sci-fi cover of the album. Last week, the hip-hop superstar released the new freestyle "For All the Barbz" featuring Drake and Chief Keef.

'Pink Friday 2' is the follow-up to Nicki Minaj’s album, 'Queen', released in 2018.
