Nick Fuentes speaks about divisions within the America First movement during a recent Tucker Carlson YouTube interview, criticizing Marjorie Taylor Greene and Joe Kent for promoting what he called “inclusive populism.”
Far-right commentator Nick Fuentes accused Marjorie Taylor Greene and Joe Kent of betraying the core ideals of the America First movement during a recent Tucker Carlson YouTube interview. Fuentes, an influential figure in the far right, is also known for having alleged misogynistic, antisemitic views. He identifies as a white Christian nationalist. His followers are called Groypers.

In late 2022, Nick Fuentes shifted his political support from Donald Trump to Kanye West’s 2024 presidential campaign, joining figures like Milo Yiannopoulos and streamer Sneako.

In The Tucker Carlson interview, Fuentes repeats the same sentiment for Kanye West to be the next president, when asked by Carlson on who Fuentes thought apt for being president. As Tucker asks Fuentes who should be the next president, Nick responds by “Well, Ye, of course”. He adds that Kanye West is also his favorite singer.

Fuentes appeared alongside West in multiple interviews, including a November 2022 discussion with Tim Pool, which ended abruptly after Pool confronted them about antisemitism. Later, during a December interview with Alex Jones, West made remarks praising Adolf Hitler and denying the Holocaust, while Fuentes expressed agreement with West’s broader views.

In another interview with Gavin McInnes, West and Fuentes claimed Hitler’s negative image was “crafted by Jews” and called for a Christian-controlled government and media in the United States.

Fuentes claimed both politicians had diluted the nationalist vision originally embodied by President Donald Trump, calling their rhetoric a retreat from genuine America First principles.

Fuentes said of Kent’s campaign language, “Inclusive populism… that doesn’t sound like authentic America First. That sounds like GOP slop.” He argued that the movement’s authenticity is being eroded by Republicans attempting to broaden their appeal.

Disagreement over “inclusive populism”

Fuentes said he initially supported Joe Kent and offered help from his followers but withdrew support after Kent denounced him publicly. He viewed Kent’s “inclusive populism” as a departure from traditional America First nationalism.

“He goes on Twitter and says, Nick Fuentes and his focus on race and religion does not fit with my message of inclusive populism,” Fuentes said. “Inclusive populism… that doesn’t sound like authentic America First.”

Fuentes added that Kent’s decision to distance himself reflected political pressure, not principle. “It’s too easy. We need to push in the other direction and say, you should feel less comfortable saying that people shouldn’t talk about their race and religion,” he told Carlson.

Fallout with Marjorie Taylor Greene

Fuentes also discussed his falling out with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who spoke at his America First Political Action Conference (AFPAC) in 2022 but later denied ties to him.

“Marjorie Taylor Greene attends, and the day after, she pretended like she didn’t know me,” Fuentes said. “She fired that guy because someone found out that a groyper was working in her office.”

Fuentes framed her actions as an example of MAGA leaders distancing themselves from controversial figures for political safety, rather than ideological disagreement.

America First divisions deepen

Throughout the Tucker Carlson YouTube interview, Fuentes said Greene and Kent’s political positions mark a broader split inside the America First movement, with newer politicians embracing “inclusive populism” rather than Trump-era nationalism.

When Carlson asked whether the disputes were personal, Fuentes responded, “It’s not personal for me. My goal is America First. It’s about winning for America.”
