NFL 2025 salary cap predictions: How much will teams spend this off-season?

Following the Philadelphia Eagles' dominant 40-22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, all NFL teams are now focusing on strengthening their rosters for the 2025 off-season.

Some teams will have more financial flexibility than others. For example, the New England Patriots will have sufficient resources to invest in their rebuild, whereas teams like the New Orleans Saints will need to make budget cuts to balance their available cap space.

NFL's salary cap for 2025

As of now, the NFL has not made an official announcement regarding this year's salary cap.


In December last year, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported that teams have been budgeting for the cap to fall within the $265-$275 million range for the new season.

If this projection holds, the 2025 salary cap would be around $10 to $20 million higher than in the 2024 season, which stood at $255.4 million, according to USA Today.

Last year, the NFL officially announced the 2024 salary cap on February 23, 2024.

This suggests that fans won’t have to wait much longer for the new season’s figures to be revealed.
