However, during her speech, she threw some angry remarks at the current situation in Gaza, where she mentioned that Israel was outrightly committing 'genocide' on the natives of Palestine. It seems her use of the word 'genocide' did not go well with the hospital administration at NYU Langone, as she was allegedly “dragged” into an urgent meeting with NYU Langone’s president and vice president of nursing on her first day back to work after the ceremony where she delivered the speech, says a 'New York Post' report.


Hesen Jabr, a 34-year-old nurse, claimed that the award she was conferred with was very special to her as it pains her to see women in Palestine going through unimaginable losses during the current genocide in Gaza.

The nurse was previously 'warned'

According to reports, she was escorted out of the hospital premises by a plainclothes cop after the hospital’s director of resources, Austin Bender, read her termination letter. According to NYU Langone's spokesperson, Jabr had been 'warned' before for not bringing in divisive and charged issues into the workplace during a 'previous incident' as well. However, the spokesperson refused to elaborate on the details of the previous issue surrounding Jabr.
