New York horror: Arrest made after man points gun at 6-year-old's head over Halloween candy bag

It is worth noting that this incident unfolds in the backdrop of a concerning trend in the United States, where the unregulated and widespread use of firearms has led to the tragic loss of thousands of innocent lives over the years.

A 6-year-old boy was allegedly threatened with a gun by a man from New York who was arrested collecting Halloween candy. Threatening and second-degree endangering a child are the current allegations against the accused, Michael Yifan Wen.

A mother, accompanied by her children set out to deliver a Halloween treat to a neighboring residence. The children were entrusted with the task of ringing the doorbell and leaving the Halloween goody bag on their friend's porch. However, upon returning to the car, one of the kids expressed doubts about the address. Hence they decided to leave it later. During this second visit, the boy approached the porch to retrieve the coveted bag of candy.

This took a nightmarish turn when an adult male answered the door, wielding a handgun and menacingly pointing it at the young boy's head, thankfully the Nassau County Police Department was promptly alerted leading to the man's arrest.

43-year-old Wen's attorney has since emphasized the presumption of his client's innocence, asserting that the allegations remain just that—allegations. The attorney urged the public to withhold judgment and await the complete disclosure of facts before forming conclusions.
