The New York Film Festival will be held at Lincoln Center from September 29 to October 15. It is not only a film festival or screening of films, but it has emerged as a cultural event attended by filmmakers, film lovers, writers, intellectuals and the public. It will also hold red-carpet events, question and answer series, discussions, press meet, and other related events.


5 Collaborators of New York Film Festival


The New York Film Festival has been planned and the preparations are underway at a time when the actors and writers are on strike demanding better pay and working conditions. The film screening will be held in collaboration with the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Maysles Documentary Center, the Bronx Museum of the Arts, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, and the Museum of the Moving Image.



New York Film Festival: Opening Night Selection


Todd Haynes’s ‘May December’ (Netflix) is the Opening night selection. Sofia Coppola’s ‘Priscilla’ (A24) is the Centerpiece selection while Michael Mann’s ‘Ferrari’ (Neon) has been chosen as the closing night film.

Art Director Dennis Lim is the Chairman of the New York Film Festival Main Slate selection committee. Other members of the committee are K. Austin Collins, Florence Almozini, Justin Chang, and Rachel Rosen.

A total of 32 films from 18 countries have been selected for screening at the New York Film Festival. It includes ‘The Anatomy of A Fall’ by Justin Triet, and ‘Zone Of Interest’ by Jonathan Glazer.


First Time Directors at New York Film Festival


Besides, films of Annie Baker, Devos, Raven Jackson, Michael Mann, Rodrigo Moreno, Felipe Galvez, Glazer, Andrew Haigh, Paul B. Preciado, Wang Bing, and Zhang Lu will appear for the first time on the Main Slate of the New York Film Festival.

Agnes Varda’s recently unearthed and restored film featuring Pier Paolo Pasolini will be premiered. This short film was shot in 1966 when Pasolini walked through Time Square.
