The NYPD launched an investigation into the matter and none of the attackers involved in the broad-daylight beatdown were caught till the time when this report was filled. In a bid to track the suspects, police released their photos.
Police reveal sequence of events
The teenager was walking at 160th Street and Hillside Avenue in Jamaica around 2:15 p.m. Friday when 13 strangers stormed him and surrounded him, police said, according to the NY Post. The attackers were apparently teenagers themselves. The crew started fighting with their target before kicking and punching him all over his body and one of the ruffians stabbed him repeatedly, police said.
NYPD releases video
In a video released by the NYPD, the crew ran on the sidewalk, most with hoods pulled up over their heads, some masked and others carrying backpacks.
The group took off the teen’s black and yellow sneakers, worth $340, before fleeing, police said. The NY Post sources confirmed that the victim is a high-schooler, but it is not clear which school he attends. Hillcrest High School is located a short distance from the scene.
