US Stock market indexes -- S&P 500, Dow Jones and Nasdaq -- are entering a holiday-shortened week as Wall Street will be closed on New Year's Day on January 1.

Now traders and investors are curious whether US Stock market indexes -- S&P 500, Dow Jones and Nasdaq -- will be closed on New Year's Eve on December 31 or not.

While, Stock Market will function as usual on New Year's Eve, December 31, bond markets will be closed early in the afternoon.


On Tuesday, December 31, US Stock Market will be operational as per the regular scheduled timings of 9.30 am (ET) to 4 pm (ET). However, US bond markets will close at 2 pm (ET).

On January 1, New Year's Day, both US stock market as well as Bond Markets will be closed on Wednesday. Normal trading for US stock market and Bond Market will start on January 2, 2025.

Corporate profits are also expected to be strong, with S&P 500 earnings projected to rise 14 per cent in 2025, according to LSEG IBES.
